I am Gumby
…meaning that I’m flexible (not that I’m green and my best friend is a horse with a lame sense of humor).
Yesterday, I left Buenos Aires for Rome. From there, I’d planned to take the train to Beaune (the Burgundy region in France), but the Eurail powers that be didn’t have any availability for me.
So, I opted for Switzerland instead. Which is where I am right now — in the capital city of Bern.
However, I just learned that Beaune is going to be even crazier this weekend (because it’s Easter). Plus, one of my preferred hotels opened up, so now I’m going there after all. Tomorrow. I just booked it 5 minutes ago.
I realize all of the last-minute changes and ambiguity is driving some of you nutty. But I don’t really mind it. It actually adds to the fun (which is exactly what I was thinking when I took off in a dead sprint to catch the train from Milan to Zurich several hours ago so I wouldn’t get stuck in Italy for the night).
I am officially crossing “Travel Agent” off my list of potential career paths.
Love this…the unknown has got to be half the fun! Have a great Easter weekend!
